Friday, 13rd<\/sup> September<\/strong><\/h2>\n

From my trip with China Blue<\/strong><\/em>, I had kept a good memory of the very touristy town of Padstow<\/strong> <\/em>(https:\/\/leblanc.pl\/china_blue_en\/index.php\/the-whole-story\/chapter-8-the-bristol-channel\/<\/a> ) and I wanted to take my friends there.<\/p>\n

\"We<\/a>

We will pump the bilges again…<\/p><\/div>\n

The departure, originally scheduled for 9 a.m., is delayed because the leak from our port diesel tank persists. We spend an hour pumping out the fuel accumulated in the bilge.<\/p>\n

Compassionate, the Kilmore Quay<\/strong><\/em> harbor master gives us a reduced rate, to compensate for the lack of electricity and toilets the day before.<\/p>\n

Mr. Cabin Boy, hold the helm!<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

We are going to cover a distance of 120 miles, and there will therefore be a night navigation.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We leave Ireland under the sun, and a good southwest gives us the respectable speed of 7 knots.<\/p>\n

We cross the Irish Sea again<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

These ideal conditions last all day.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Dusk fills the sky with a few threatening clouds.<\/p>\n

The sky is becoming threatening<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

But this weather barks louder than it bites, and our sailing conditions remain calm throughout the night.<\/p>\n

The navigation is uneventful, the night is magnificent.<\/p>\n

We could not have hoped for better.<\/p>\n

The Irish Sea is crossed in 23 hours.<\/p>\n
