Wednesday 11th<\/sup> September<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Today is the last day before our final departure.<\/p>\n

We want to make the most of it.<\/p>\n

First of all, as good gentlemen, we must thank our hosts, and more particularly our hostesses Yvonne and Dorothy.<\/p>\n

A florist from Malahide will make and deliver two pretty bouquets.<\/p>\n

\"Trinity<\/a>

Trinity College University<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

The whole crew then takes the train to Dublin.<\/p>\n

Eric wants to visit the National Museum of Archaeology<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

We walk through the parks of Trinity College.<\/p>\n

We will spend a very informative morning, although too short, in this superb building.<\/p>\n

It is 3pm when we leave the museum. The day is beautiful, and we are hungry.<\/p>\n

At the Doheny and Nesbitt<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We look for a pub, there are many to choose from and we decide on the “Doheny and Nesbitt<\/strong><\/em>“, magnificent Victorian pub in Baggot Street<\/em>.<\/p>\n

We can hear the heart of Ireland beating!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\""Famine",<\/a>

“Famine”, the memorial on the banks of the Liffey<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

How can we not mention, on the right bank of the River Liffey, the moving group of statues which commemorates the terrible famine which struck Ireland in 1845, and the exodus which followed.<\/p>\n

Later, the walk through the streets of Dublin has some lighter surprises in store for us.<\/p>\n

Kiki poses between a barrel of Guinness and his buddy Oscar Wilde.<\/p>\n

Wouldn’t you think he was a real Irishman?!<\/p>\n

A sign that speaks to me!<\/p><\/div>\n

In an alleyway, a shop sign catches my eye:<\/span><\/div>\n
What a playful wink, a fortuitous allusion to my previous visit to this country with China Blue<\/strong><\/em>, my first junk rigged schooner I had sailed back from Glasgow, which was replaced two years later by Paradox<\/em>.<\/span><\/div>\n

A T-shirt for the occasion!<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Paradox<\/strong><\/em>, which Bruno and Christian later discover on a T-shirt, which they of course rush to give to me!<\/span><\/div>\n

Without spoiling the Irish atmosphere, the sky clouds over and the rain decides to accompany our journey back to the boat.<\/p>\n

\"Last<\/a>

Last evening in Malahide, thank you Dorothy and Joe!<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

This final day will have its highlight with the invitation to a last meal at Joe and Dorothy’s, where the whole crew meets up with Alan, Kevin and Yvonne.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This very pleasant evening marks the end of our stay in Malahide.<\/p>\n
